COVID 19
The prodigal son story has always been so vital in my faith journey and it's coming up again, but this time I'm looking at the story and life through the lens of the elder son. The elder son that is in the father's house yet perhaps is yearning for something more. Perhaps I'm yearning for the days of past community, church, friendships, relationships, experiences, etc MORE SO than yearning for the father himself. I can clearly be in the house of the father yet not with the father. COVID has revealed a bit of that. Ways that I've craved the meat of slavery in Egypt (pre-COVID life) when maybe, just maybe, Jesus is inviting me to eat something completely new and experience him a new way. I have also been reflecting on ways that I've scorned the "father". I am no different than the people who were mocking Christ on Calvary.
